About Dementia Caregivers Connection

What is Dementia Caregivers Connection (DCC)?

Dementia Caregivers Connection is a nonprofit community founded by caregivers, for caregivers. We provide practical insights, compassionate resources, and a genuine sense of community for families navigating the dementia journey. Everything we offer comes from real lived experience — because we've walked this road ourselves.

Who founded DCC and why?

DCC was founded by Pete Lindquist and a team of caregivers experienced with dementia caregiving. More than a website, this is a comforting place where you can take your mind for Insights, Solutions, and Relief.

Is DCC a nonprofit organization?

Yes, Dementia Caregivers Connection is a registered nonprofit organization. Every donation goes directly toward supporting caregivers through resources, community programming, and outreach.

Is joining the community free?

Yes. Our community, articles, and most resources are completely free to access. We believe every caregiver deserves support — regardless of their financial situation. If you're able, your donations help us keep it that way for others.

Resources & Content

What topics do the Caregiver Insights articles cover?

Our Caregiver Insights section covers five key areas: Understanding Dementia (the disease, its stages, and how it affects your loved one), Caregiver Suggestions (practical day-to-day guidance), Dealing with Challenges (stress, grief, difficult conversations), and Viewpoints (reflective perspectives from those who've lived this journey), Humor (the light side of caregiving that gives us a spark when most needed).

Are the articles written by medical professionals?

Our content is written by and for caregivers — with a focus on the human, emotional, and practical realities of the journey. We always encourage you to consult with your loved one's medical team for clinical decisions. Our role is to offer the kind of peer wisdom and compassionate perspective that medical resources often don't provide.

Can I share my own caregiving story?

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Caregiver voices are the heart of DCC. Reach out through our Contact page to connect with our team about sharing your story. Your experience could be exactly what another caregiver needs to hear.

Is joining the community free?

Yes. Our community, articles, and most resources are completely free to access. We believe every caregiver deserves support — regardless of their financial situation. If you're able, your donations help us keep it that way for others.

Community & Support Groups

How do I find a support group near me?

Our Communities & Resources page lists local support groups, national organizations, and online Communities & Resources specifically for dementia caregivers. You can also contact your county’s “Agency on Aging” for leads to local support groups.

Are there online support options?

Yes. We understand that not everyone can attend in-person groups. Our Communities page includes online support group options, and we're continuously expanding our digital offerings to reach caregivers wherever they are.

Donations & Getting Involved

How can I donate to DCC?

You can donate through our Donate page, which offers one-time giving at any amount, as well as monthly giving options. Every gift — no matter the size — helps caregivers find relief, community, and support.

Where do donations go?

Donations fund our caregiver resources, community programming, support group coordination, and outreach efforts. As a nonprofit, we're committed to responsible stewardship — your gift goes directly to supporting caregivers and their families.

How can I get more involved with DCC beyond donating?

There are many ways to get involved: share your story, volunteer your time, spread the word to caregivers in your network, or simply engage with our community. Contact us to learn about current opportunities.

How do I contact DCC's leadership directly?

You can reach Christine Suchor and the DCC team through our Contact page. We read every message and do our best to respond thoughtfully. You are not just a contact form to us — you're the reason we do this work.

Our Mission

Connection, Insight & Relief

To connect dementia caregivers to community, practical insights, and genuine relief — so that no caregiver has to figure this out alone, without a hand to reach for or a voice that understands.

Built by caregivers. For caregivers.

Our Vision

No One Walks Alone

A world where no caregiver walks this road alone — where every family touched by dementia has access to the compassion, knowledge, and community they so deeply deserve.

Because love deserves a community behind it.

Dementia Caregivers Connection isn't a program someone designed from the outside. It is the community Pete and Christine wish had existed when they needed it most — and it grows stronger with every caregiver who joins it.

Built by caregivers, for caregivers. We offer practical insights, compassionate community, and meaningful relief for every family walking the dementia journey — because no one should face it alone.

Join our growing community of caregivers.
